It takes just 2 ingredients and less than 15 minutes to make this delicious main dish or appetizer.

All that’s needed is smoked sausage (precooked) and premade barbecue sauce with a flavor that’s more on the sweet side.

It’s the caramelization of the barbecue sauce just to the point where the sauce is somewhat sticky and thick, that really makes this taste so good.

I especially like the combination of the smoky flavor and a barbecue sauce that has some sweetness to it.

The caramelized sweet flavor of the barbecue sauce along with the smoky flavor of the sausage tastes heavenly together.

About the Smoked Sausage

The caramelized barbecue sauce sticks nicely to the slices of smoked sausage so that each bite has sweet and smoky goodness.

Although I used turkey smoked sausage in this recipe, to my taste buds, the beef or pork (or combination of both) have a little more flavor.

About this Recipe

In this recipe, the slices of smoked sausage are browned on each side, then removed from the pan onto a paper towel-lined plate to remove any excess grease.

Then the sausage goes back into the pan, the barbecue sauce is then added and cooked until it’s caramelized and sticky.
