The Essential Air Fryer Cookbook for Two

I didn’t grow up having seafood very often. So when I was first out on my own, it wasn’t natural for me to add it to my dinner menu.

But once I realized just how much they all love it, I made it a point to learn how to make some of their favorite recipes at home.

The best part is that making seafood is easier than it seems – which makes me really happy. Because if you know me, then you know that I’m all about the easy recipes around here.

So I was browsing the Albertson’s website trying to come up with a plan for the week. Then I came across this Sockeye Salmon from Open Nature®.

I knew the family would love a good salmon dinner and it was a great opportunity for me to test out my oven-baked method on the grill since the weather is so nice right now.

Can I make this salmon in the oven?

Yes, you absolutely can bake this in the oven instead of the using grill if the weather isn’t permitting. Just cook at 375 degrees for about 30 minutes if baking in 2 large pieces and at about 25 minutes if you cut it into 4 smaller pieces.

What else can I add to the foil packet?

The possibilities are endless. We love making salmon foil packets using asparagus, broccoli, corn, zucchini or potatoes. You can also do a veggie medley and add them all in there if you like.

What other seasonings can be used on this salmon?

If you want to change up this garlic butter salmon recipe, you can leave out the lemon and garlic and add in a teriyaki glaze or chili powder.

Garlic Butter Salmon (7)

How many can this serve?

This recipe makes 1 large salmon filet. It will depend on how you want to divide it. I cut this one in half because I knew my family would then divide it up how they wanted to later. But for large appetites, you can cut into thirds or portion out into 4 pieces.

Can this recipe be doubled?

Absolutely. If you are cooking for a crowd, I highly recommend picking up several filets. You can bake or grill them all at the same time. The cooking time will not change.

Can this foil packet salmon be cooked from frozen?

Since you are basically steaming the salmon in the foil packet, you can make this from a frozen salmon filet. However, I do recommend thawing it first as it won’t be as flaky or tender when cooking it frozen.

  5. Pull the sides of the foil up so that the ingredients are contained.
  6. Melt the butter with the garlic and pour over the salmon pieces.
  7. Sprinkle with seasonings and then lay the lemon slice on top of each piece.
  8. Pull the foil together at the top and roll it tightly closed so that the steam is contained in the packet.

What is the best way to store leftover Garlic Butter Salmon?

Place any remaining salmon in an airtight container and keep refrigerated until ready to serve again.

To reheat, place the salmon on a baking sheet and warm in a 275°F oven for about 15 minutes, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 125°F to 130°F to avoid drying out.

To use the microwave, cook at about 35% power in 30-second intervals until hot. Make sure to readjust the salmon on the plate to ensure it heats evenly.
