Habitat Conservation Plan & Harvest Value Application to Parcels
Commissioners,
I write to you today in
request that you take immediate action to resolve the HCP issues that hold
the property owners of Big Pine Key from redevelopment. County Staff has,
for months now, continued on a fruitless path with regard to achieving any
sort of solution. Even the Planning Commission has now decided the HCP to be
in error and at a loss as to what to do next.
Enclosed you will find
my letter requesting the public information of just how the Harvest Value
was applied to each parcel of land. To date, no one can answer the
methodology that was used by URS Corp. and the inadequacies therein.
It is time for your
Commission to take charge of this issue and make a resolution that will move
our island toward a future that is fair and just for all.
Your Commission signed
this monster in our names without thought to the outcome.
Each of
you have the responsibility to stop this madness so we may move toward the
plans our tax moneys have already paid for.
